Albania is one of few countries in Europe where the communist regime build its roots for about 46 years. After many successes that were presented to the whole population by the communist party there was a step back in reaching "the top,"" or in other words, in completing our European dream. At that time there was only one party which controlled everything. Before being like other communist countries, Albania was in a very difficult situation, it had just come out of war so everything was damaged and affected by the war. The new regime managed successfully to build houses, hospitals, universities so that everyone would be able to learn to read and write. In this way they won the hearts of Albanians but later all this was followed by many mistakes and step-backs. .
While other European countries were trying to work together and make the great European family work, in Albania the isolation started. Firstly they settled good relations with other communist countries like China and Russia, but latter even those relations were broken. In this situation the only solution left was to produce everything in our country because even the economic relations with other countries were stopped. This is how total isolation started. All the private property was bought by the state. The economy ended up suffering to much. Instead of producing things that were needed by the whole population they started to build fabrics which were going to produce machines. .
As a small country, it didn't have the capacity to fulfill every need of the population. People were not able to buy everything they wanted, just small amounts of food that most of the time was not enough. There was a secret policy that controlled everything, so the people were not allowed to say what they thought, to wear what they liked, to read books or listen to music of other cultures. Not only in this case but in a lot more they were sent to prison and their family was going to suffer too.
