Parallels in George Orwell's 1984

In this book, art seems to imitate life. The book talks about many things that are possible. Especially with today's technology lot of the things like spying on the public are very real and do happen. For instance when the government what caught tapping into our phone lines. The government also now has cameras kind of similar to telescreens in a lot of public places now. Orwell lived in a time where the government was taking a lot of people's freedoms. Back when all the leaders in his country were dealing with other countries that were power-hungry also much like big brother in the book, and that were taking away human rights. Germany was brainwashing their citizens and maybe out of pure fear they followed but they got the citizens of Germany to turn against the Jews. Hitler also took people and made them the doormats of society. Similar In 1984 Oceania is always at war with other countries and battling for power in the book he Oceania is at war with 2 countries constantly, Eastasia and Eurasia.
Germany made the Jews much like the prowls. In a way the book mimics this because the Jews were considered to be at the bottom of society similarly the prowls were in the same boat. In the novel, they were all put into a single place and that was where they all stayed and resided. Very similarly the Jews were the outcasts of society and people were asked to stay away from them much like the prowls. For many other reasons also but mainly for their own safety also. Another parallel the book has to real life is the rationing that was going on in this novel. At the time Orwell was growing up there was a lot of rationing going on due to the expenses the country took on during world war 1. Similarly in the book the country has continued to stay in was for many years. As far back as the main character could remember the country has always been at war except at one time when he was very young like 7 or 8 and then the war happened and it left him motherless.
