The Benefits of Being Underage

If only I could still fall under the underage group! I remember getting the little toy in the kid's meal with my sister. It was the joy of my life with that one little toy that came with the fries and the burger. I was always eager for my eighteenth birthday to arrive. But there is always that one day where the time comes and we must get some kind of image of our reality. All of a sudden that baby that used to be cradled every night to sleep is now mommy and daddy's big girl/ boy. Long talks with the parents about boyfriends and sex, having to pay adult price admission, and just "bills.bills.bills," that's when I knew this stuff was serious. .
I remember the first time my dad sat me down for the "serious talk"," I was 12 back then. At first I thought it was him going to ask for a favor. When he told me to have a seat, I knew it was something serious or I got in trouble. He talked to me about how I'm in the age where boys don't look at girl as a friend but as a girlfriend. He went on about how I have to be careful and be wise. Then came the talk about sex and protection, boy was that embarrassing. At that point in my teenage years is when I knew that Barbie dolls and play dates were not in my category anymore. As a baby, the admission to anywhere is free; later came the stages and the age categories. Now that is where the money was! And now after 12 years of age, getting charged as an adult, sucks, no more kid meal and pay full price at the movies and Universal Studios is a hassle I think of. For example, when my family and I would go to a restaurant my sister and I always picked the chicken fingers from the kid menu. Now we go and all we get told is "Sorry, only for children under 12."" That used to be the best part about going to the restaurant. Oh well, good things must come to an end.
The teenage stage is already difficult as it is, so you can imagine the adult life. The most commonly said phrase, "Aww, my little boy is now a man," or "My baby girl is growing up so fast.
