Ancient Egyptian vs. Modern Christian Religion

The Egyptian religion was full of ritual, wealth, power, and secrets. The Christian religion, in contrast, is more open and satisfying to comfort and empower individuals without middlemen. Though there are some similarities, the two religions are mostly polar opposites. The contrast between these two religions is between the God who created us versus a people who created many gods. In the Ten Commandments, God says that "I am the LORD your God and you shall have no other gods before me. " In fact, worshipping any other thing or person beside God is a sin in all of Judeo-Christian religion. By contrast, in the ancient Egyptian religion, almost anything was worshipped and treated as a god. In The Cat of Bubastes, cats or even imaginary creatures, combining two animals, were worshipped. It is as though the Egyptians needed one god for every event in life.
The ancient Egyptian religion was like many other ancient religion because most cultures worshiped the same gods with different names and forms. The Christian religion is different from that because our one true God possesses all characteristics of many imagined gods in one God. In the Christian religion, there is only one omniscient and omnipotent creator God. .
Ameres, in The Cat of Bubastes believes, contrary to his high priest status, that the many gods of the Egyptians simply represent many characteristics of one god. Ameres' job was to keep the Egyptian's faith alive in their gods. He had not seen any evidence of the gods' existence. Also, Chevron and Amuba find reason to believe that the priests were constantly tricking the people by any means. In the modern Christian religion, we have a Bible, and teaching through the Church that is available to people of all cultures. God wants us to know more about Him and His Son. He doesn't hide secrets; he pursues his people to reveal himself. Christians have labeled supposed secrets to their faith as heresy.
