Finding Yourself Lost

The Way of the Peaceful Warrior is an inspiring and life-changing book written by Dan Millman. This story takes place in Berkeley, California. Dan Millman, the main character, is very successful in achieving all his goals. However, he re discovers himself as he goes along a journey with Socrates. Socrates helps Dan change the way he thinks, feels, and perceives life itself. The cocky Dan Millman is belittled when faced by Socrates and is often corrected or made a fool of. Dan abandons his thoughts and feelings and begins to learn the ways of the peaceful warrior.

The pain can purify the mind and the

That phrase describes realization, however, Dan must learn to apply that in his life. Still confused, Socrates asks, “Where are you?” Dan replies, “Berkeley.” Socrates continues to ask where he is until Dan says on earth, in the solar system, and in the universe. Socrates asks again, “Where is that?”(28). With that final question, Dan says he doesn’t know, and Socrates points out to Dan that he is ignoran
