My First Deer

It was a cold dark September morning when I got up into my tree stand. I set up at the corner edge of the woods looking over a soybean field. There was a slight breeze blowing northeast that day and the odds would be in my favor. I knew the deer would travel past me as they would try to grab a little snack before heading off to their bedding area. Sitting in the dark up in my tree stand, all I could do was anxiously wait for the sunlight to appear. It was not long before the sun slowly started to rise and everything around me started to move. The sparrows, cardinals and crows just chirping and flying everywhere. I cannot forget about the annoying woodpecker pecking away just right above me. The many sounds of insects especially crickets going off like crazy including the mosquitoes. .
I was set on a big old oak tree with branches hanging down to my left and right with fading green leaves camouflaging me. The soybean field to my left and the severely beaten down deer trail twenty yards in front of me. The leaves from the trees and plants were glistering as condensation set upon them. The woods in front of me was so thick that I could not make out if anything was going to come out of it. I had to rely on my sense of hearing and made sure I was paying attention at all times. Six hours have passed and I was beginning to feel hopeless that I was not going to get a deer. I decided to wait anxiously for a few more hours before giving up. While surfing the net on my phone, I heard the sound of something moving in the thick woods in front of me. Making very slow and soundless movements I set my phone back into my pocket and glanced over to see what it was. About twenty seconds later I start seeing the head of a deer pop out thirty yards in front of me. I couldn't believe it, my mind was racing with full of joy and I knew this was my chance. .
A couple seconds later, the deer cautiously stepped out in full view and it was a doe.
