Socrates in My Life

I was not one hundred percent sure how to go about writing this paper, because I have never had to do anything like this before. How would I ever be able to withstand the logic and wisdom of someone like Socrates? He may have thought that he was not wise, but after questioning certain men in his time that were considered to be full of wisdom, he realized that they, in fact, were not wise at all. So obviously this made HIM the wiser one. .
One thing that I thought of when I first got this assignment was, "what would Socrates say of my own life?" This was something that really got me thinking. I have many different pros and cons related to my life. The first one that I would like to see his evaluation of, would be my work values. One of my strongest values is my faith. I believe that Socrates would absolutely find this value to be a great thing. Many people have no underlying foundation to all other aspects of their lives, but this is my foundation. Without my faith, I would not be able to have a successful life whether it be financially, with my family, or with my own emotions. This would be something that he would respect, at the very least. I honestly can say that I would expect to receive praise for it. .
Obviously there are many things that can be praised in one's life, but there are also things that can be critiqued, both constructively and negatively. Socrates would be the man that would give you constructive criticism. My language would be something that he would absolutely criticize. I have trouble controlling my mouth. I sometimes swear, but more importantly, I jump to conclusions and speak before I think. Socrates would talk to me about how my language and speech is a reflection of my values on daily life. I would have to agree with Him and let him know why I am this way. I would let him know how I was raised and tell him about the guys I grew up around. To be honest, though, he would not have pity.
