The Types of Evil

Evil is common part of man being for all religions and ideologies in all cultures. Man has a unclear line between his evil part and his good part and there is always a war between these two characteristic scientist have been researching what make a person cross over the line in order to learn fundamentals of badness. Adam Morton explains evil behavior in his text ''Evil and otherness'' as intentional abuse of power. S. Alexander Haslam and Stephen D. Reisher contend in their text '' Questioning the banality of evil'' that discrimination allow people to commit crime easily. Leonard S. Newman gives importance to effects of groups in his text '' Epilogue''. Man is triggered to go wrong by some dispositional, situational and systemic forces.
Dispositional forces are essentiatize weakness of man causing evil behavior. Blind obedience to authority is one of weaknesses of man that obey whatever is wanted without thinking on it. Milgram experiment proves the power of authority figure and what it can cause. Newman contend that ''milgram found that in certain situations most people with comply with the directives of an authority figure even when they are asked to do things that they would otherwise find to be morally questionable '' because authorities take the responsibilities of evil - doer actions. without social norms and responsibilities and help of the tendency to obey authorities , anything can be done by potential evil-doer. Another instinct of human is concering with how well they perform than what they do, called agentic state (Haslam and Reicher 16) . People are well concentrated to do their work in the best way. Therefore, they cannot notice what they cause. They can easily cross the bad side of line.
Situational forces like difficult life conditions and group conformity have non-negligible contributions to make people behave in wrong way staub propound that difficult life conditions are not only problem in itself but also it causes another option that make people go wrong; group conformity.
