Religious

Being a member of spirit of faith Christian Center has really changed my life for the better. I have currently been a member for three years. I decided to become a member of Spirit of Faith upon entering college. Joining a virtuous church before entering college was my first priority. This was so important to me because I was starting a new life and entering adulthood. I felt that I needed proper religious guidance and knowledge in order to succeed and survive; and that’s what I found at Spirit of Faith. Previous to becoming a member at Spirit of Faith, my family and I jumped from church to church to find an inspirational and trustworthy pastor. It was such a relief to finally find a pastor who truly interprets the bible in terms that are understandable. Since I have become a member at Spirit of Faith Christian Center my lifestyle has been altered causing my to stand out among my peers.

The majority of my college friends believes and knows that there is a god, but doesn’t demonstrate their love for god. I was also the same way prior to joining spirit of faith. One of the most valuable lessons that I have learned is to love. By loving yourself, others, and God includes a very essential techniques. One technique

is to forgive and love your enemies. Forgiving people who has done dishonest toward me really makes me stand out from not only my friends at school, by also family members and local friends. They cannot understand how I can forgive so easily and still continue to smile and converse with the person that has insulted me. When I learned that when I do not forgive that God will not forgive me, I quickly changed my ways and started to forgive. I profit in many ways by just being a forgiving person; God forgives me for my mistakes and the ability to forgive my enemies and not hold grudges is a stress reliever (less stress). By illustrating my love for God paralyzes the enemy.

In like manner, tithing is another valuable lesson that I have learned. Before becoming a member at the church I did not know anything about tithing. All I knew was to give up a few dollars when the collection plate came around; I didn’t know why, but it was what you were suppose to do. Dr. Mike and Dee-Dee explained the reason for tithing. I learned that tithing is a mandatory duty displaying love, obedience, and loyalty to God, that I should be a “cheerful giver not a tearful giver”, and that all my needs would be met. When I learn something new in church I distribute the knowledge to my friends. I discussed tithing with them and the totally disagree
