All too often we hear about people of all ages having sexual relations before marriage. The common statement you hear from those who are sexually active before marriage is, “But we love each other.” That may be true, however; if the two people really loved each other, why would they not be willing respect not only one another but mostly God? Premarital sex is detrimental to the emotional and spiritual well being of those who choose to do it.

Couples who have premarital sex choose to set themselves up for an emotionally damaging relationship. Sex is glamorized now more than ever. Couples who choose not to have sex are sometimes looked at as weird and are often of times picked on. Not only that, it is just plain hard when you put yourself in a sex potential situation to resist temptation. So let’s say the couple gives in and starts a sexually active relationship. It is all too often that we hear all of the dramatized situations that follow premarital sex. The girl becomes infatuated with her partner. She sees him talking to other girls, maybe jus

t in passing, and goes off the deep end. The female’s security lays in the hands of her partner now because she has given him something, at one point in time, she valued. Many girls become depressed because of how they feel so attached to their partner whom in most cases is not attached to them. For the boys sexual activity is emotionally damaging because once they start having sex, it becomes almost a necessity. It is common that sex tends to be harder to resist for males than females. So once they start having sex they form a dependency for it. Even if they love their girlfriend, sex becomes the most important factor in the relationship and takes the focus off of love. In many cases if the female does not want to have sex any more, the male will cheat and go find someone who does. This factor causes emotional damage to all. The emotional damage the male is how much less they value sex. Not only that, but now he has 2 partners to worry about; the girlfriend and the mistress so to speak.
