Hero’s are often depicted in ancient history for their commitment to self-glory, unlike in mire recent times for love, and freedom. Beowulf is a hero to England, but was raised in Sweden. Why did Beowulf leave Sweden? Why did he have to leave his country in order to become a hero? Beowulf unlike Robin Hood who in his native country; England became a hero for fighting for his people’s freedom. Robin Hood dissimilar to Beowulf did not have to leave his country in order to become a hero. Robin Hood stood up for what he believed in, and in return helps not only himself, but also the people of his country. Violence often plays a significant role when heroes are involved. Beowulf fights and kills for his own self-glory, while Robin Hood fights and kills for what he believes in, and that is freedom for his people. Robin Hood being apart of the community understood the people, and what they believed in, and his own personal beliefs all played an important factor to helping not only him, but his people as well. . Since his home had been destroyed, and his life had been turned upside down, he was determined to conquer the king that had betrayed him.
