Multimodal Communication Reflection

Multimodal text can be anything from paper such as a book to digital things like as videos and presentations. Multimodal text allows for students to get their argument across in a more effective and powerful way rather than just writing about it to their audience. We will explore the differences as well as the similarities between the composing process for an alphabetic text between my CDA essay and multimodal text. We will also look at the challenges encountered while composing and the value of multimodal composing. .
There are similarities as well as differences between a CDA essay and multimodal text. Some of the similarities involved would be things such as both a CDA essay and multimodal text include a written part to it. Even though the multimodal text required a presentation that included pictures, videos, etc. It still had a written part to it as well to explain your topic like you did in the CDA essay. Another thing that they had in common is that both of my papers involved social media. My CDA essay was about how businesses are using social media to advertise too many different audiences and get their businesses name out there. My multimodal project included social media by using it to teach kids that drinking doesn't make you cool and in fact it actually has a more negative effect on your life than anything mentally and physically. These are just a few similarities that came across the CDA essay and multimodal project. A main difference that occurs between the two is that a CDA essay describes your topic or argument in such depth through words explaining the meaning by unmasking the words and bringing about a deeper understanding or even make you look at it on a different perspective. A multimodal project helps you to get a better understanding of the topic as well but by using things such as pictures, videos, and speech to get the point cross in a different but still detailed way that works better for others learning styles.
