Alfred Kinsey - Influential Psychologist


            Alfred Kinsey was on of the most influential psychologists of the 20th century. His studies on the sexual behaviors of male and females help the "sexual revolution." He was born on June 23, 1894, Hoboken, New Jersey. He passed away on August 25, 1959 in Bloomington, India. His religious father insisted that he should drop his interest un biology an instead he should study engineering. After two years studying engineering Alfred had finally had enough. He stopped studying to become an engineer; instead he enrolled Bowdoin college and studied biology. His father and him did not reconcile after this.
             Kinsey pied his dues and lager on became a professor. He wrote many books but, even though he books were well received by authorities in the field he was still really upset that he was not offered to be a professor at a superior university. Maybe because of his disappointment Kinsey made a sudden career change in 1938. He led a course on family and instituted. Kinsley showed lectures on biology of sexual simulation. He tried to change the conventional thoughts on sexual behavior and he tried to replace them with a biological definition. His researched changed dramatically now he started to focus on the varieties of human sexual experiences. He had his students have a private conference were he take there sexual histories. He would conduct the same experiment on the weekends in near by communities. He later started to receive research help from the National Research Foundation. Kinsey was finally able to hire assistants and he was also able to start the Institute of Sex Research at Indiana university. .
             On January 1948 Kinsey and his partners published a book called Sexual Behavior in the Human Male. It took this book a few weeks to become a best seller, even thought the book was really dry and had a very large amount of statistics, graphs, and tables it still sold two hundred thousand copies of the book.
