Illegal Immigration

Before I get to the subject of illegal immigration, let me first make this declaration: I AM NOT A RACIST. That being said, please, let me enlighten you.

Illegal immigration is a problem in the United States, most notably, California. That word -- illegal – get offended. I want you to. Just then, maybe it will light a fire under your “you know what,” that will cause you to not dismiss illegal immigrants as a problem you can just sweep under the rug. Yea, right, try sweeping an estimated 2,209,000 illegal immigrants under the rug (los angeles). You must have a pretty big rug. It would have to be to just ignore an unlawful problem like that. Here are some numbers for you to think about: (1) There are an estimated 7,000,000 “undocumented workers” in the United States, but even that is a shot in the dark (los angeles). I mean how could that figure be anywhere close to what it really is if these people are undocumented? What’s worse is that 32% of those 7,000,000 reside, or should I say hide, in California. Don’t you just love what your tax dollars are paying for (los angeles)? I don’t, but I’ll touch on that later.

Remember Sonny Bono? Not just as a musician, or the guy that

As far as population is concerned, immigration has caused staggering effects on the census count. According to NAS, immigration currently accounts for 37% of U.S. population growth (041144710). Now if you were to count the children that are born here to illegal parents, that brings the total to over 50% (relax, I know the children are legal) (04144710). If this keeps up, the study shows that 2/3 of the 120 to 150 million people we are supposed to make room for in the next century have arrived ILLEGALLY (04144710).

Each year the U.S. Boarder Patrol makes more than a million arrests of people who knowingly cross our boarders to work and receive publicly-funded services that you and I pay for. People who enter the country like this commit a misdemeanor, if it is repeated, it becomes a felony (04113604). In addition, to the people who unlawfully enter our country, other immigrants enter legally on work visas, but then overstay their welcome when their time runs out. In 1996, the Immigration and Naturalization Services indicated that 60% of immigrants entered illegally and 40% simply overstayed their welcome (04113604). Both types of immigrants are subject to being deported under the Immigration and Nationality Act Section 237 (a)(1)(B) which states: (4) “Any alien who is present in the United States is in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable ” (04113604). To me, this pretty much says that if you support illegal immigrants in your country, then you support unlawfulness. Shame on you.

So you hold a job. Good for you. You pay for your own healthcare through your monthly checks? Pay federal, state, local, and property taxes? Congratulations, you are among the people in the population who are responsible and understand what it means to be ethically responsible. But, you’re also paying for the illegal immigrants to have the same benefits as you. According to the National Academy of the Sciences, California taxpayers are picking up the tab for a net annual cost of $1,178 per-native born household (04144710). Nationally, the total amount
