Juvenile Offenders as Adults

once said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." This quote means that there should not be discrimination against anything. Throughout America, there have been many situations involving discrimination. Discrimination goes back all the way to the 18th century. Even though they made an act called the Equal Pay Act of 1963, people still discriminate against other people today (Remy). The differences between people that prompt discrimination in our society are gender, religion, and racism. .
First of all, gender is one difference between people that prompts discrimination in our society. According to the article "Dimensions of Gender Inequality & Its Impact on Society," women in the United States earn less money than men in a similar job (Tanzim). For example, in 2013 men were paid more than women by 22 percent (Hill). Also, more women do housework than men. For example, women clean, cook, shop, take care of their children, and sometimes pay bills. Another thing about gender discrimination is the fact that women are more likely to be raped than men. Some men kidnap teenage girls, or women to rape them. Kidnapping is also a discrimination against women because children, teenage girls, and women get kidnapped more often than men. These are discriminations against women. .
Secondly, religion is another difference between people that prompts discrimination in our society. There are many religions in this world, such as Catholic, Judaism, Christianity, Muslim, and many more. People discriminate against differing religions as they do not share the same beliefs. These different beliefs affect the way they view themselves and others. For example, in the Catholic Church people adore (not worship) the Virgin Mary while in a Christian church, they don't.
