The Future of Management


             What does the future hold organizational management? This question could be asked to a room full of people, and you can probably come up with a dozen different answers. Everyone has there own opinions, but there is one thing we can all agree on. Things will not stay the same. The world does not stand still for anyone or anything, so in order to survive we must adapt our management plans to overcome the obstacles in store for our organization. With the constants changes occurring in our world, it is safe to say that the rules of management will never be set in stone. New concepts and trends are proof that change is definitely on the horizon, and we need to work toward the future instead of resting on our past achievements. .
             The reality is that there will always be change. We will always be faced with new problems and obstacles. It is the responsibility of our managers and leaders to decide how we are going overcome the obstacles we are facing now and avoid the potential obstacles down the road. First we must decide who our future managers and leaders will be. By definition a manager is a persons who directs a team. A manager is simply a title given to the person in charge. Out of a room full of managers you are going to find a hand full of leaders. A leader not only directs a team, he or she shows the team how to accomplish their goals from leading by example. One person can wear both the hat of a manager and the hat of a leader. This is often accomplished training and experience. A manager knows the rules, policies, and goals of the organization. A leader knows how apply the rules and policies to effectively reach the goals of the organization.
             The functions of management are going to help pave the way for the future of our organizations. By using a structured system to guide the evolution of management, we will have a better idea of what we need to do to improve on our existing plans.
