Fredrick was born possibly around 1817. He was born into slavery so Fredrck never knew his father. He also didn't know when he was born either. Fredrick like say to his birthday was Feburary 14, because his mother called him her "Little Valentine". Then when he was seven she died. When Fredrick was older he met a girl named Anna Murray, they then escaped together and later got married. Then Fredrick dropped his slave name, Fredrick Augustue Washington Bailey and became Fredrick Douglass.
