The One Who Completes Me

Of all the things that have happened in my life, there has been only one that has changed my life as a whole. I have always gone through life without much thought, taking each experience for granted. One after another, days would go by like a gentle breeze, one no more important then the next. Each day would pass by in a very systematic function. Variety had no business in my life. If what I had was good, then why would I try something else? "Stick with what you like" was an unproclaimed motto I abided by. From the food I ate to the people I associated with, everything had its place. Then one day in my math class, the teacher rearranged our seats, and my world was turned upside down.
My math class had a very select group of people I deemed worth talking to. In my eyes too many people were caught up with social status to care about "outsiders." I was the type of person who could talk to everyone, from the jocks to the geeks and everyone in between. And I did minus the extremes of both cases. That doesn't mean that I valued all of these conversations, but nonetheless I had them. .
My math teacher decided that she was going to move our seats because it was a new marking period. To me these days were no big deal, just a new group of people to talk to. I was moved to the back of the class, my least favorite place. I tended to let my mouth run to my friends too much when I was far away from the teacher. She placed me next to two kids I talked to on a casual basis, but they were quirky funny people, my kind of people. As class progressed throughout the term, we would talk in the back of the room. There was this girl who I didn't know, but talked to because she was friends with guys. The more I talked to Katie, the more she opened up. It turned out she had a quirky personality too. Girls like her were hard to come by without them getting too extreme. Within my previous experiences, girls were either overly eccentric or too reserved.
