Wal-Mart

Do you recognize this slogan: “Always low prices. Always.”? Then, you are probably one of the many people that shop at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart was first opened in 1962 by Sam Walton in Bentonville, Arkansas. Since then, the growth of the Wal-Mart Super Center has been phenomenal, but why should the community support Wal-Mart? That is easy. Wal-Mart brings more jobs with better benefits to the community, consumer savings and satisfaction, and they are the one-stop shop for your every need.

First, let’s talk about the jobs that Wal-Mart creates for the community. Wal-Mart is the number one retailer in the world. It employees over 1.2 million people world wide. They have more than 3000 stores across the United States. When Walmart moves into the community, it creates hundreds of jobs with benefits that the mom-and-pop stores can’t compete with, for example:

Wal-Mart associates have the oppourtunity to change career paths and have boundless limits on career advancement, without ever leaving the company.

The key to Wal-Mart’s effectiveness is their Open Door Policy. Every Associate is encouraged to bring any suggestions to their supervisor.

As you see, Wal-Mart offers associates much more than a job; it offers a career.
