It is sad that a little girl was taken from her “safe” home and the parents call their religious leader before calling the police. It is sad that a little girl disappeared from her “safe” home and her sister can’t remember if the guy had a knife or a gun. It is sad that a little girl is gone from her “safe” home and the public doubts that it was really a kidnapping. What does this say about the Nation as a whole, that we would question whether a little girl was kidnapped or not.

The Smart family spent their time waiting for Elizabeth to be found by having daily press conferences and fighting for the Amber Alert. This eludes to the question, “Was this whole thing staged so that Ed could realize political power and maybe cover-up the fact that his teenage daughter ranaway from their “safe” home?” For example, the day that he finally gets his daughter back, he holds a press conference to say that it is great to have her back but also slays a congressman for delaying the Amber bill.
