Our Trip to the Tennessee Titans Game

Last Sunday, my girlfriend and I attended the Tennessee Titans professional football game against the Houston Texans in Nashville, TN. It was one of the most exciting professional football games that I have ever attended. Our expectations were very low, but we were pleasantly surprised by the outcome of the game and the good weather. It was a great experience and I wish all games were as exciting and entertaining as this one.

We arrived at the football stadium with the threat of rain still looming overhead. Upon entering the stadium, we tried to find out the approximate location of our seats. We took time to browse the souvenir shops and other local shops, then we started ascending the ramp upward to the third level. Finally, we found our seats and started to settle in for the game. I pointed out several interesting features around the stadium to my girlfriend, such as the large video screens, luxury box seats, and the team mascot dancing around on the field. The Tennessee Titans began the game with a tremendous blast, which lasted all game long. During the Titans first possession, they began driving down the field methodically picking up first downs with an ingenious mix of running and passing plays. All of the sudden, Steve McNair dropped back for a play-action pass, he looked left, then back to the right where he saw Derrick Mason behind two defenders. McNair heaved the ball about 40 yards down the field and Mason caught it in stride and ran into the end zone for a touchdown. The Tennessee defense held the Texans’ running attack in check and they were chasing the Texan quarterback all over the field on passing plays. A few possessions after the first Titan touchdown, McNair threw another touchdown pass to Mason, but this time it was to the other side of the field. The first half ended with a dramatic but short touchdown run by Robert Holcombe with less than a minute remaining in the half. The Titans began the second half a little sluggish.
