Dublin

Dublin is located on the east coast of Ireland, Dublin’s latitude and longitude is 53ºN and 6ºW and Dublin is the capital city of Ireland.

Dublin is in a temperate maritime climate, which can be modified by North Atlantic Current and conditions can be quite humid at times. Dublin has cold winters with temperatures ranging from 4-8ºC, major snowfalls are rare but they occasionally get dustings. Summers are mild, with temperatures ranging from 15-20ºC. In the summer months there are about 18 hours of day light and only gets completely dark after 11o’clock at night. In an average year Dublin receives about 150 rainy days, with an average rainfall of 840mm per year.

The climate is quite a comfortable to live with and doesn’t have that much effect over the city, Dublin doesn’t have to deal with many weather occurring disasters as some other cities around the world have to.

I don’t think Dublin has a main function, it is more of a tourist city and gateway to Ireland. Many young people live there but it doesn’t look like your typical city with sky scrappers, it had many Georgian buildings which are all very old, it is a developed city because of its age.

The River Liffey divides Dublin; other rivers in the area are the Poddle, Dodder and Tolka. Greater Dublin sprawls around the arc of Dublin Bay. To the north, the city is bounded by the hills at Howth and to the south by the Dalkey headland. The city covers an area of 44.4sq miles.

In my research I found no mention of evolving or growing problems about Dublin. I don’t think Dublin has many problems that they will need to overcome in the future, there is no threat from major natural disasters that could wipe out the area. Dublin has room to sprawl, not to become over populated and it is a very livable city that has many visitors each year.
