On the late afternoon of July 1st, 1961 Lady Diana Frances Spencer was born in Norfolk. From day one, she lived a life of luxury, however the happiness didn’t last when her parents divorced. Diana spent most of her years at boarding school learning the art of being a good wife. So when did Diana meet her prince charming? At the tender age of sixteen both fell in love and decided to tie the knot. On July 29, 1981 at St Paul’s cathedral Diana Spencer married the Prince of Wales. Family was important, and soon enough she gave birth to two boys. Unfortunately, her fairytale marriage was coming to an end. On July 15th, 1996, the couple were officially divorced. Diana decided to look for love elsewhere, and found Dodi Al-fayed. Sadly, on August 31st, 1997, at the age of 36 her life came to a jolting stop, when she died in a car crash. Princess Diana not only lived through historical events, but was also a part of them. From the fairytale marriage, to the deplorable divorce and ultimately to the tragic death of Princess Diana, she made history throughout her lifetime. Contributions to/ Effects on Society: “ The girl from nowhere who lost her husband and won the world.” Diana spent endless days helping people. Giving up her to visit hospices and providing love to the sick and poor. She also started land mine campaigns and started devoting her time to the Red Cross. When one thinks of all the wonderful things Diana has done, another noble and kind person comes to mind, Mother Theresa. It seems that she followed in her footsteps, making her a role model in her life. Mother Theresa influenced Diana by showing her how much help is needed in the world and every second of the hour she could do something to change it. Many obstacles came in her way, politicians mocked her and at times the royal family deprived her of her dreams. For the things she has done with her title as princess she has proved she truly is a princess, that touched people’s heart. Sick people can only be cured by love, which both Mother Theresa and Princess Diana gave.
