The events that took place on December 7, 1941 on Pearl Harbor obviously show that this sparked the United States into Entering World War Two. “ It was “the classic moment when an innocent America, on its paradise island, is pulled into the world scene by a surprise attack,” says historian John Dower.” The United States was, in fact, a somewhat innocent country for wanting no part in a Second World War. Keeping quiet, America paid attention to its own matters, not wanting to implicate itself with the violent nature of war with the Japanese. The United States did, however, get involve in some complications with the Japanese, only to protect the future of America. Before December 7, 1941, the United States Entering World War Two was, not out of the question, but rather a last resort. From the violent attack of December 7th, it was relevant that America protects itself with its values and goes to war with the Japanese. The United States have now entered World War Two. “Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan… I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, Dec. 7, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.” The beginning and end to the speech giving by the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, clearly states that the bombing at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 was a reason of necessary action to declare a state of war on the Japanese empire. The United States took necessary precautions whenever possible to preserve its way of life with its values. This was thought that the United States was already in the war but played a small role. America never wanted to actually go to war until the vicious attack from the Japanese. With this evidence, it clearly indicates that Pearl Harbor was the spark to the United States Entering World War Two.
