Apparatus: zinc, hydrochloric acid, stand, balance, one large and one small test tube,

Test tube holder, flame stick, safety equipment.

Procedure: A demonstration of this laboratory activity will be performed for the students. Strict attention to the demonstration is necessary to assure that the proper steps are taken. WARNING, this activity involves the use of acid and the production of hydrogen gas. Both of these substances are dangerous and every caution is to be taken to avoid accidents.
