In the beginning, Caesar is disguised as an old man, and Cleopatra expresses her frightened feelings about the Romans. In conclusion, it is evident that Caesar does have an influence on Cleopatra, however does not succeed in making her a true queen. It is known that Caesar has an influence on Cleopatra, because he acts like a fatherly figure towards Cleopatra. In addition Cleopatra is innocent and venerable, which makes Caesar?s influence on Cleopatra stronger. However, Caesar?s influence is not strong enough in making Cleopatra a true queen. Though Cleopatra has some qualities of being a queen, for example being a leader, she does not have all of them. Despite the fact that Caesar guides her and advises her intelligently, Cleopatra chooses to disregard Caesar?s advice, when she becomes a tyrant. In retrospect, Caesar?s influence on Cleopatra is remarkable; he definatley was capable of making Cleopatra a true queen. However it was Cleopatra who had made the choice, not to become a true queen, but a true tyrant.

(19). This quote exemplifies that Cleopatra cannot speak for herself. She is like a puppet, being controlled by insignificant people such as nurses and priests. She is unable to speak and make decisions for herself. This shows that Cleopatra is unable to make decisions for herself, she will not be able to make decisions for her own country. When Cleopatra and Ptolemy are fighting over the throne, Cleopatra is extremely childlike; this is demonstrated by the choice of vocabulary in which she uses. ?Cleopatra immediately comes down to the chair of state, seizes Ptolemy?you are not to be King, you little cry-baby (44)?. Cleopatra?s actions speak for themselves, abusing her brother is not exactly a mature way to settle problems. Cleopatra unable to make decisions, and childish in her ways supports the fact that she is innocent, and venerable. As a result of Cleopatra being venerable and innocent, Caesar?s words seems the like the best advice that anybody could give to her. She is unable to differentiate the ?best advice? and what ?seems to be the best advice?. Furthermore, because of Cleopatra?s innocence Caesar?s influence becomes stronger.
