Rain of Gold

Lupe Gomez is one of the main characters of the story. She is the youngest of her siblings

and probably the prettiest. She was always called an angel, while she was growing up in Mexico.

She loved her mother and always stuck by her side. She grew up smart and sweet. When she was

around fifteen her family moved to California to find work and avoid army that would come and

destroy their home. She went to school and studied hard, she wanted to have an office job. Along

the way she met a man Mark that she loved, but was American. At that same time she met Juan

Salvador, who at first thought was a bully but ended up loving him. They married and had a

wonderful relationship, not perfect but they got through life together. Lupe represents the hard

worker in society. She persevered and worked hard and honest to live the life she wanted.

Juan Salvador is the other main character in the story. As a child he was a chubby devilish

boy, but grew up to become a man who appreciated what he had, and not appreciate working for

others. They like Lupe’s family moved to California looking for work, but not without hard times.

Growing up they had to beg to survive and Juan


always lends a helping hand. He works his way by hard labor, but is always motivated by the love
