In Scene 1 Banquo suspects that Macbeth has murdered King Duncan in order to gain the throne. Meanwhile, Macbeth is planning Banquos murder yet he is gracious and friendly towards him. He casually starts a friendly conversation with Banquo while trying to find out his plans for the day which will help him plan his friend‘s murder. Knowing that Banquo could father future King’s worries Macbeth . He wants to keep the throne and he does not want Banquo to have it or any of his siblings . He hires and manipulates two men to do his dirty work and kill Banquo and his son.
Scene 2 is mainly about how the relationship of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth has changed from the beginning of the play to now. Macbeth told her everything like about the three witches and what they had told him but now things have changed. Lady Mac
Scene 4 tells about the party that Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are throwing to celebrate Macbeth as the new king. The beginning of the feast shows us how Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are acting the roles of King and Queen. They seem to be enjoying their privileges but they are still bothered by their actions and their consciences are tormenting them. Their party is interrupted by the first murderer. Still covered in blood he tells Macbeth the good news of Banquo’s Death but also tells him that Fleance was able to get away. Knowing that Fleance escaped scares Macbeth but then Lady Macbeth comes to remind him that he has guests and must tend to them, he has to hide his fear and act normal or at least try. During the dinner Macbeth mentions that he wished Banquo were there to join them. Those comments turn out to be ironic
