Children and teenagers grow a huge addiction to video games causing them to forget or not care about the more important things they need to do. Rather than coming home and sitting down and doing their homework they run straight to the controller. Than, the next day they scramble around trying to get their work done before class. They also feel they can study and play at the same time until they get their tests back and they wonder why they failed. It

If this obsession continues who knows what are nation’s youth will be like in the future. A worthless bunch of couch potatoes; still sitting on the couch of their parents’ house, eyes glues to the screen and hands clenched around the controller at the age of 30. Yet, maybe there will be an overwhelming need for psychologists because of the trauma older people went through as a child when they shot their best friends while acting out a video game. Make video games a privilege rather than an all the time occurrence. After their work is done than they can have fun. Also be sure to watch for strange behaviors and a growing obsession.

Young people get so sucked in by these games they would rather sit inside and beat the next level, than do more productive things, or things they are told to do. If their parents ask them to take out the trash the answer is always “in a minute” or “after I beat this level”. Soon enough that minute becomes an hour and that level becomes ten.
