President Bush: All-American Man

Audience: Readers of the paper who are voting for the ‘04 Presidential Election

Course Title: American Government and Politics

The upcoming election will have an enormous impact on our society and the way our government operates. The election, held next fall, will have current President George W. Bush as the main republican candidate. In order for President Bush to win another term as President I feel that there are a few topics that he needs to address. As President you are faced with many decisions and the consequences for those decisions. I feel that at this point in time there are many advantages and disadvantages for President Bush. The current advantages for Bush are; our safety from terrorism, his health care plan, and his education plan. These platform topics give Bush a strong advantage over his competition. Bush does have some disadvantages at this time. I would say the two major disadvantages at this time are the war in Iraq and the state of our economy.

Currently President Bush has great plans for education and healthcare. The President

The health care agenda proposed by President George Bush is designed to improve the quality, availability, and affordability of health care in America. The first step in the President’s plan is to make health care affordable for everyone. The President believes that everyone is entitles to high quality health care coverage at a price they can afford. The President has set aside 117 billion dollars to make sure health care is affordable and another 89 billion dollars to be spent on health care credits for middle and low class families health care. The President’s plan starts by allowing small business to pool resources to provide health coverage for employees and to lift restrictions on medical savings accounts, to allow for more tax-free savings accounts. This would allow for citizens to utilize medical savings accounts and people are always happier when they are in charge of their own money and spending. The agenda also allows for an additional two million Americans to receive coverage under Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP). This will allow for more federally funded health care coverage for many Americans. This health care coverage is funded by 350 million for Medicaid and 3.2 billion for S-CHIP. This money will greatly remove some of the burdens on American families on the topic of health care coverage. The President has also pushed for a tax exemption for those people taking care of long-term need individuals. I feel that this money is greatly needed. Even for people with health care coverage the monthly fees are often unbearable. Between the President’s education act and his agenda for health care, I feel that President Bush has a great jump on the competition for the 2004 election.

The bottom line is that any educated American would vote to re-elect President Bush. He is one of the great Presidents. He has provided tax cuts to increase spending to stimulate the economy. He has also provided assistance to the common American, not the rich, like most democrats would lead you to believe. He has also allowed for huge sums of money to be spent on fantastic education and health care programs. President Bush has done great things for every citizen in this country. If it were not for unforeseen circumstances, such as September 11th, a national recession, and serious abuses by corporate CEOs, he would be viewed as one of the greatest President’s ever.
