The last primate is the chimpanzees which are great apes that live in western and central Africa. Chimpanzees have very long arms and a short body. They are covered with black hair on most of their body. They have a slight brow ridge, large ears, small nostrils, and an elongated snout. Chimpanzees have a hairless face except for a short, white beard in both male and female adults. Male chimps are larger than females. Female chimps weigh 57-110 lbs and male chimps weigh 90-115 lbs. Chimpanzees are omnivores. They eat leaves, fruit, seeds, tree bark, plant bulbs, tender plant shoots, and flowers. They also eat termites, ants, and small animals.

These apes mostly live in trees and swing from branch to branch using their arms. Orangutans have a large, bulky body, a thick neck, very long arms, short legs, and no tail. They are mostly covered with long reddish-brown hair. Orangutans have a large head with prominent mouth area. Adult males have large cheek flaps that get larger as they age.
