Both the English and Spanish had early colonial experiences when first exploring and settling the Americas. Both experiences are different enough to say there are distinct English and Spanish experiences. The Spanish led a successful journey to the Americas and became wealthy, unlike the English who had very hard experiences when coming to the New World.
