Martin Luther King, Jr. played a key role in our nation’s civil rights movement. Martin was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15th, 1925. His father, Martin Luther King was the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Martin attended Morehouse College an all black college in Atlanta. He graduated Morehouse College in 1948. After graduation Martian enrolled in Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. He graduated Crozer Theological Seminary first in his class. Martin married Coretta Scott in 1953. He met her at the New England Conservatory of Music at Boston University. The next year, he became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
