Hamlet: The Ambition of Polojius

Ophelia was a young girl who was in love with Prince Hamlet. Her father had raised Ophelia since her mother died when she was younger. Polonius obviously favored his older son Laertes, which can be seen through Polonius' advice and behavior toward Laertes, but since he was the only parent, Ophelia was obliged to respect and obey him. Gertrude loved her son, Hamlet, more than anyone else in the world. Gertrude believed that Polonius was the key in figuring out why Hamlet was behaving oddly, and that Hamlet would be helped when Polonius discovered what was wrong. Polonius again went to the king with an idea of how to gain the information about the cause of Hamlet's insanity.
