Teaching chimpanzee to talk

The article ¡°Language and Animal Signals¡± by W. R. S. Russell is about a couple of researches proceeded by scientists in attempts to teach Chimpanzees to communicate with human. The experiment done by Gardeners was successfully ended with proving that chimpanzee is capable of learning language.

A scientist couple, Hayes conducted an experiment teaching a baby chimpanzee, Viki, to talk. They brought her up with most decent and sophisticated teaching method as if she were a human child. The result, however, was disappointing.
