Conflict and The Younger Generation
In the movie The Jazz Singer and in the cartoon, the younger generations of the 1920'sgive us a small hint of the controversies and conflict that surrounded them. The movie not only shows us the disobedience to the older generation but controversial dance moves and music that revolutionizes many of the entertainment industries. In the cartoon we see the issue of sex being mentioned around the older generation as if it is no longer considered to be taboo. With the introduction of new inventions to improve modern life, the younger generation makes the 1920's a decade to remember. While Americans were stuck in post war disillusionment, the younger generation created a phenomenal change on the moral beliefs of the older generation. The younger generation took to partying, spending, taking chances, and disobeying what they felt was an infraction of their rights. With the younger generation revolutionizing values and ideals it is no wonder they made as big an impact on the society and decade as they did. This uprise of the younger generation can be held accountable for their part in the conflicts of the 20's. With women winning the right to vote many politicians realized they had to appeal to
living closer together and the mixture of literature, music, and motion pictures were leading the would crash causing despair throughout the world.
