Joys and Sorrows of my future profession ¡§We must be the change we wish to see in the world¡¨ (Gandhi) As a teacher, I will work to change the world through my actions, my students, and all those who observe what we will create together. Each of us who inhales the breath of this planet is a teacher in the truest sense of the word, as each of us contributes to the growth of humanity and the formation of the history. Those who choose to pursue the vocation of teaching take this responsibility to the next level in realizing that the future is in the hands of our children, and that in order to achieve peace and justice in the years to come we must teach the youth how to seek it now. That¡¦s what came into my mind immediately after I saw the video presented by Mrs. Bush throwing light upon the American methods of teaching. ¡¥As a student, I was fortunate enough to work with teachers who served as positive role models by encouraging and motivating me to succeed. As a teacher, I hope to have similarly beneficial impacts on today's learners in order to help them be successful beyond the classroom.¡¦ ¡¥When choosing a profession during my undergraduate career, I reflected back upon the individuals who have greatly influenced my life. Almost all of them were teachers. Knowing the impact that all of them had in my life and the pride and sense of accomplishment that I felt upon completing a task successfully made me want to share this.¡¦ But naturally all the joys are inevitably accompanied by certain sorrows and the video pushes home the point by carrying the following message: teaching is an honour, but cannot be adequately accomplished without strong support. Teachers depend on aid from outside sources including parents, faculty, professional literature, the community as a whole, and their families. No teacher can be successful if they are working alone, they must use their resources to the best of their ability and always remember to make decisions based on their personal philosophy.
