The business environment is in a constant state of change and complexity. In this changing environment, however, I feel that it has become increasingly important for managers to step outside of the cookie cutter mold of what they think a manager should be and be proactive and willing to change. Flexibility is the key to success in today’s business environment – remaining stagnant and managing per the status quo is simply bad business sense. The need to set a good example for employees and to train them to do their best is always present in such a turbulent working environment, Managers must, therefore, stay attuned to the world outside of their company as well as the goings-on within in order to promote efficiency and effectiveness in their subordinates.
