Dante Rossetti Biography
Born May 12, 1828 in London to a controversial Dante scholar, Dante Gabriel Rossetti was destined to be involved in the arts. His family was well noted. His father, Gabriele was known over Europe for his exploits as a scholar, and for his status as political exile from Italy. His mother, Frances was of Italian and English lineage, and was a good deal younger than his father. Rossetti had three siblings. An older brother, William edited his work, and was a Pre-Raphaelite archivist. His younger sister, Christina was a well noted poet who produced works which became almost as famous as those of her brother.
