The title of the book is Charles Darwin and it was written by Arthur S. The copyright date is 1966 and the book is 189 pages.
             3. Arthur S. Gregor was a teacher at Cornell University and has taught at various other school's. In addition he is now a principal in New York city. Arthur Gregor is also married and has two children. He is best known for writing books for young people. He decided to write about Charles Darwin because they were both slow starters. He describes Charles Darwin as a,"Victorian Cinderella story.".
             4. The title of the book is Charles Darwin. The author probably chose this title because people would immediately know what the book is about. In my opinion this is a rather dull title. I think that a better title would have been Charles Darwin: From Misfit to Hero.
             5. In the beginning of the book Charles Darwin was a disinterested student. He was described as "dull and apathetic." Later on in his life though, I thought he became more responsible and knowledgeable. This was summed up best by Thomas Huxley who complemented Darwin's book The Origin of Species in this quote,"There is nothing comparable to The Origin of Species as a connected survey of the phenomena of life permeated and vivified by a central idea.".
             6. "The battle was won, the enemy routed from the field. Darwin had dared to defy the world, and the world had surrendered. Recognition had at last been his, and with it the acclaim of society. The youthful revolutionary had become the elderly sage." I chose this passage because it sums up Darwin's victory and how far he had come from being a "dull and apathetic" student.
7,c. The only thing I knew about Charles Darwin before reading this book was that he wrote the theory of evolution. Before I read this book my opinion of Darwin was that he was a brilliant scientist and thinker for having unlocked the secrets of evolution. After reading this book I have even more respect for him.
