The second conception that Darwin has for the “Deity”, is that a supernatural Creator didn’t just create a couple of new forms in the beginning, but is continuing to create some. The Deity has to create new forms at different times in the earth’s history to make up for the forms that have disappeared through extinction. Darwin writes, “[…] He required a fresh act of creation to supply the voids caused by the action of His laws […]”. By “His laws”, he means extinction. (Tordjman.p.49)

The problem with this conception is the fact the supernatural Creator has to “fill in gaps” that He created. These gaps are caused by the laws of nature God himself has created (Tordjman.p.50)!
