Depending on others makes life so much easier, because you don’t have to do anything for yourself. I know this because I use to depend on everyone for everything. I depended on my mom the most. I knew she was the one person I could always count on. After awhile not doing things for myself made me lazy. It was as if my mom and siblings were my servants. I never had to do anything for myself my whole life. All I had to do is say “I want this ” and it was mine. I got money whenever I wanted it. I got clothes whenever I needed them. I always had someone to wash my clothes, clean my room, and take me places. I was an Incompetent child.

When you depend on others, no one ever depends on you for anything. I guess they think if you

can’t do things for yourself, how can you don anything for them? Being dependent makes you feel useless and not needed. I always felt like I was in the way. I felt I couldn’t do things for myself. People didn’t want me around anymore. I was never proud of myself. When I depended on everyone, it made me feel helpless. I was disappointed so many times, because there wasn’t anyone I could count on. Everyone got tired on being taken advantage of. I think the biggest reason I was so dependent on others was because I was the youngest child.

Know that I am Independent I feel so much more grown up. I feel so much better about myself, knowing I can do things for myself. If you are independent you can make sure things get done. I am in control of my life. I can go out with friends when I want, and don’t have to ask for permission. I can do whatever I what because I am a responsible and independent person. I don’t have to depend on others to take me places, clean my room, or wash my clothes.

I now have people who depend on me so I have to be responsible. My sister depends on me to baby sit my nephe
