One Person Who Has Made A Significant Impact on My Life
In an atmosphere where appearance dominated education, I was led to a life, rich in values. The man who was to guide me was my anatomy and physiology teacher, Mr. Alaniz. Not only was he my teacher, but a good friend who incorporated me with a life-time of significant lessons which I would base my future on.
During my freshman year in high school, I noticed that most of my peers had lost their personal identity. They were all trying to be someone they were not. Actually, I almost fell into their trance.
After school one day, as I approached Mr. Alaniz’s class, I noticed some type of gathering. I was so daunted by the crowd of people in the classroom that I passed, leaving my curiosity unanswered.

Around Christmas, our club went Christmas caroling at a nursing home for elderly women. After singing, I overheard one elder woman mention that their Christmas tree was stolen from their storage. I was so moved that I gathered a committee the next week at school to collect donations. In three days we collected enough money to purchase the tree. When I went to the Christmas tree emporium, the tree dealer was so touched by our doings that he donated two Christmas trees to our club. So I used the remaining of the money to buy decorations and make each of the ninety residence members a unique Christmas card.
