The Sexual Behavoirs Of Today

The sexual behaviors of today's American Teenagers. An interesting subject. In the early 1980's, the time I was born, teenage sexuality was not an everyday topic, let alone headline news. Currently teenage sexuality is on a steady increase. This makes you wonder why more teenagers are steadily becoming sexually active. It is believed that peer pressure and just wanting to fit in, are reason for the increase, because in this society it is obvious that what people think of you counts. Those are a few reasons why there is an increase in teenage sexuality but this research paper will touch on three different points. Teenagers increase in sexuality is mainly caused by increased drug and alcohol use, lack of instilled morals by parents, and marketing strategies of today's big businesses.

About 59% of the subjects experienced each of these effects. In another more recent study by physicians, increased sexual appetite was reported by 60% of the chronic users and 43% of the occasional users of marijuana. Recently professor Goode published the results of an informal survey of about 200 marijuana users in which he acquired about the relationship of marijuana to both sexual desire and sexual activity. To the question "Do you think that being high on marijuana stimulates your sexual interest, or not?" 38% said that their interest in sex while high was no different in degree from their normal interest in sex. 5% stated that being high on marijuana has a negative effect, in example, it turned them off sexually. 13% replied that the effect depended on either their mood, their partner or both, and 44% reported that it definitely increased there sexual desire.
