Integrity can be described as who you are when no one is watching. This is a skill
youhave to teach yourself, because you're not born with it, but it is something that you can
makeyours. Integrity is a theme that relates to The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller. John
Proctor's integrity was tested and he's found unworthy, since he failed the "test". He seems
tocontain it in the public eye for he seems so innocent, but behind closed doors he
commitsadultry. Abigail Williams, whom is the former servant of the Proctor family was
John'svictim. Not only did he commit a crime, but a sin as well. Elizabeth, his wife now sees
thathis love for her is nothing more than lust. John has made himself less of a man, and now
he'llhave to deal with it. Integrity will have nothing to do with John Proctor.
From my point of view I believe that John committed not one crime but two. John
cheated on his wife Elizabeth to attened to Abigail, whom is a minor. He has now ruined his
reputation and destroyed his name the things he was most concerned with. John makes it clear
that he never was a man of integrity because he wasn't born with, so he should die without it.
