The rest of the plans are sent out to stop group six and even shoot them down before reaching the Soviet Union. The plans never get near group six due to lack of fuel and fall into the Artic Ocean. After this happens the president and the Omaha base try and help the Russians destroy the group of planes.

The understanding of the defense system was really cleared up in this movie and showed how it was suppose to work. The ways that it was to protect us from attacks from other countries, and how during this time that the technology was really stepped up with all of these threats. This movie was very interesting and keeps your attention the whole time your watching. Fail Safe was a great movie and really helped with the understanding of that situation in history.
