C.S. Lewis Rewrites the Key Events in the Life of Jesus

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is about four children, and their first visit to a magical land named Narnia. Lucy is the first of the children to make to Narnia, but her siblings don’t believe her. The others also find their way to Narnia with Lucy. When the children end up in Narnia they find out that the White Queen unjustly rules the land. The White Queen makes Narnia permanently winter but never Christmas. Edmond, one of the children, had sided with the White Queen in an earlier visit, because she feed him some magic candy and offered him prince hood. The other children find out that Asland, the Lord of all Narnia is coming back, Edmond runs away to the White Queen. The children meet up with Asland and Edmond returns with the

C.S. Lewis claims to have written The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe his whole life up to when it was published. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the first book in The Chronicles of Narnia. The Chronicles of Narnia are a seven book series that are among Lewis’s most famous works. The land of Narnia and its inhabitants come from C.S. Lewis’ childhood, he often would pretend to be playing with the animals in Narnia. The characters of the Children, the Professor and the situation of the children in the countryside actually come from C.S. Lewis’ life. C.S. Lewis housed four children in his massive house to keep them from the Nazi bombings of England. The Chronicles of Narnia are very well recognized by Christians and non-Christians as wonderful children’s stories to read. Many college majors write thesis and doctorates analyzing the series as a whole and just The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on its own.

Asland is an obvious representation of Christ and God through out the book. When Asland trades his life for Edmond’s, Edmond becomes a representation of all humanity. Asland is giving his life for Edmond’s sins against Asland. Jesus gave his life for humanity’s sins against God. Asland and Jesus were both resurrected after their executions. Asland’s resurrection, while not following the resurrection of Jesus still gets imagery from the Bible. When the girls go back to see the body of Asland, they find the stone table broken and Asland standing in full glory.
