Profiling Girl Scouts

Every young girl should have the chance to experience girl scouting.

I have had the experience. There are five age levels of girl scouting: Daisy Girl Scouts, 5 to 6; Brownie Girl Scouts, 6 to 8; Junior Girl Scouts, 8 to 11; Cadette Girl Scouts, 11 to 14; and Senior Girl Scouts, 14 to 17 (Microsoft CD ROM). I was in Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, and I was a Senior for one year. During my first year of Brownies my troop didn’t do many activities, but after that year we started to do many activities such as camping, and doing community service. I loved my Junior troop because I knew all of the girls from Brownies. I was very excited to move up to a Junior because when you are a Junior you do many more activities than what you did when you were a Brownie. The activities that I did when I was a Junior were camping about two times a year, crafts, going on hikes, going to the grocery store, and more. Every time you move up a level in Girl Scouts you do many more activities, and you have more fun.

My favorite year of Girl Scouting was my Cadette year. Out of all the years that I was a Girl Scout I loved my Cadette years the most because we went on many camping trips. I remember going camping four times that year, which was a

lot compared to what I did in my previous years. As a Cadette you have the chance to go to summer camp for a week, which I did, and I enjoyed it. I attended the Camp Echo Trail summer camp outing and that camping trip was my first time away from my parents for a whole week. I made a lot of friends, and I also had the chance to do many fun activities. I hiked the trail, which was about five miles long, and it was very hot and tiring. The only thing that I hated about camping was the famous disgusting out houses, and they were so gross I dreaded going to the bathroom. The other thing that I hated about camping was the spiders, which I am scared of, would get in your sleeping bag, so you had to make sure that you shook it out or else you would be very surprised to what you find in there.
