Romantic Elements of the Poem


             In the poem "The Lamb  by William Blake there are many romantic elements used. Blake uses
             nature in his poem. He also uses innocence in "The Lamb.  William Blake uses lots of
             imagination in his poem also. In the poem "The Lamb  by William Blake there are many
             romantic elements used to add meaning to the poem.
             The first romantic element noticeable is nature. William Blake uses nature to show the
             scene of his poem in the line "By the stream and o'er the mead.  This shows where the lamb is
             and where it will spend most of its life. Nature is also used to portray a visual picture of how the
             over all poem should look to the reader by the descriptive words that Blake uses. Nature is
             used to add to wording attraction to the reader.
             Another romantic element used is innocence. Blake uses innocence through the entire
             poem. He does this by having the lamb in the poem because it is a symbol of innocence. The
             lamb is a symbol of innocence because it is a creature made by God to be gentle and kind.
             Innocence is used to create a emotional feeling for the reader.
             The final romantic element used in this poem is imagination. Blake also uses imagination
             throughout the entire poem. Imagination is used to portray the readers images of the meadow
             where the lamb lives and even to create a visual image of the lamb itself. Blake does this by his
             word creation that he uses to entice the reader.
             William Blake uses romantic elements in the poem "The Lamb  to add a significance to
             the poem. The first romantic element is nature to set the scene of his poem. The next element is
             innocence. Blake uses this to create a emotional feeling for the reader. The last element is
             imagination. William Blake uses this to give a visual image of his poem to the reader. Romantic
             elements add to the words the poet writes down to give it importance and quality for the reader.
