Diana
When we were going to chose a project we decided on working with Princess Diana, because she was an interesting and beloved person who died a unexpected death. We wanted to find out what her life was like, during her early years and her marriage to Prince Charles. We also wanted to find out how she died and why. We found facts about her in newspaper articles, reference books and on the Internet.Lady Diana Spencer was born 1 July 1961. She had two elder sisters, Jane and Sarah, and a younger brother, Charles. At the age of 6 her parents got divorced and that haunted her through her life. When their mother moved to London, the children stayed with their father on the Queen’s Estate at Sundringham and also at Althorp. Diana took her parents divorce very hard and she felt lonely and unhappy. She had to take care of her brother Charles and she saw how much he missed their mother. As a child Diana was very fond of animals and she loved to swim. Her teacher says that she used to get up in the mornings and stay in the pool for several hours. She got her first education at Riddlesworth Hall Preparatory School and in 1974 she went to West Heath School. She finished her education in 1978 in
Many people loved Diana because she was human. She didn’t believe she was more worth than anybody else. In spite of her fame, fortune and beauty many people felt Diana was a friend of theirs. She was willing to expose her emotions and broke the traditional ideas of royal behaviour. She was a glamorous woman who lived a life of privilege, but had ability to relate to people of all backgrounds. Diana was described as a good mother and was a popular object for paparazzi, who could make a lot of money on pictures of Diana, and that might have led to her death. One year after her death the hysteria were still clear and many people left flowers to her memory. But 2 and 3 years after her death the British had stopped grieve her. Only a few persons left flowers to her memory and visited the museum that had been created after her death. Hardly anybody grieves her anymore, but she is not forgotten. Almost every British can agree that Princess Diana went down as one of the most beloved figures in the later half of the 20th century.
